Legal Expertise

Meghan’s practice focuses on commercial litigation. She has assisted in representing banks, insurance and reinsurance companies in complex litigation and arbitrations. Meghan also has experience with secured transactions and commercial matters, including successfully replevying property and assisting with the disposition of collateral pursuant to the Uniform Commercial Code. More recently, Meghan has expanded her practice to include coverage issues relating to Directors and Officers Liability, Insurance Company Errors and Omissions Liability, Managed Care Professional Liability, and Employment Practice Liability policies. In addition, she has successfully contested the validity of a will and trust agreement on the bases of lack of testamentary capacity and undue influence. Meghan is an associate at KFP.

Education and Achievements

Meghan received her J.D. from Tulane Law School in New Orleans in 2001. While at Tulane, she studied International and Comparative Law at Trinity College, University of Cambridge in Cambridge, England. Meghan was a member and served as Assistant Articles Editor for the Tulane Journal of International & Comparative Law. Her comment entitled, “A Combined Discovery Rule and Demand and Refusal Rule for New York: The Need for Equitable Consistency in International Cases of Recovery of Stolen Art and Cultural Property” was published in that journal. Meghan graduated from Dartmouth College, with honors in Government in 1996. She is a member of the bars of the State of Illinois and the Northern District of Illinois. Meghan is a member of the American Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association and Chicago Bar Association.
