Legal Expertise
Jodi’s 18 years of diverse litigation experience and her insurance coverage expertise provides her clients with a unique combination of both analytical and practical skills. Before joining KFP, Jodi served in the public sector as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Florida. Jodi began her career at the Attorney General’s Office enforcing the State’s consumer protection laws in state and federal courts, and participated in several parallel prosecutions with state and local law enforcement and the FBI. She later developed expertise on bankruptcy issues and appeared on behalf of the State of Florida in United States bankruptcy courts throughout the country. In private practice, Jodi defended members of the Professional Association of Dive Instructors in scuba-related wrongful death and personal injury suits. Jodi is an associate at KFP.
Education and Achievements
Jodi earned both her undergraduate degree in 1984 and juris doctor degree in 1987 from the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. She is a member of the bars of the state of Florida and Illinois, the Northern District of Illinois, and the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida. She recently co-authored the article Cicio v. Vytra Healthcare: Another Blow to the Defense of ERISA Preemption in Utilization Review Decisions.
